On the morning of July 7th, a symposium aimed at deepening collaboration and exchange between Nanjing City and Nanjing University was held at the Zhixing Building on the Gulou Campus. Jiang Min, Deputy Mayor of Nanjing Municipal People's Government; Zheng Xiaoming, Deputy Secretary-General of Nanjing Municipal People's Government; and Zheng Hairong, Vice President of NJU and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the meeting.

Jiang Min pointed out that NJU has always been committed to serving the major strategic needs of the nation and the local development requirements. NJU has cooperated with Nanjing City to build high-level science and technology parks, jointly tackled key core technologies, and facilitated the transformation and implementation of a large number of scientific and technological achievements in Nanjing, providing strong intellectual support and innovative momentum for the high-quality development of Nanjing. She emphasized that both the university and the local government should establish a regular communication mechanism, clarify a list of tasks and responsible entities for cooperation, broaden the areas of cooperation, achieve complementary advantages, and jointly create a model of school-local cooperation.
Zheng Hairong stated that the National Education Conference has systematically planned the acceleration of building a strong nation in education. Aligning with this goal, NJU will coordinate the integrated development of education, science, technology, and talent, deeply integrate into the national innovation system, and provide strong intellectual support and talent guarantees for the comprehensive advancement of modernization with Chinese characteristics. He noted that with strong support from Nanjing City, NJU should continue to promote the alignment of municipal and university policies, resource integration, and project implementation, actively integrate into the local development agenda, and make new and greater contributions to advancing the new practice of modernization with Chinese characteristics in Jiangsu.
The meeting was chaired by Wen Yu, Executive Deputy Director of the General Office of NJU. Heads of relevant departments from both Nanjing City and Nanjing University participated in the discussion.
