From July 19 to 20, Tan Zhemin, President of Nanjing University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences visited Shuangbai County in Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province to inspect and promote NJU's pairing assistance work. Zhang Jijian, Party Secretary of the Chuxiong Prefectural Committee; Zhang Wenwang, Deputy Party Secretary and Chuxinog Prefecture Governor held separate work exchanges with Tan Zhemin. Chen Feimin, Vice Governor of Chuxiong Prefecture; Yang Mengting Deputy Party Secretary and Chief Executive of Shuangbai County and others participated in the field research symposium. Chen Yunsong, Vice Chair of the University CPC Council and Director of the General Office; and Wen Yu, Executive Deputy Director of the General office accompanied the field research.
On the afternoon of the 20th, a symposium on NJU's pairing assistance to Shuangbai County was held at the Shuangbai County People's Government.

During the meeting, Tan Zhemin emphasized that pairing assistance work is an important political task assigned to Nanjing University by the Central Committee of the Communist Party. He noted that through the joint efforts of NJU, Chuxiong Prefecture, and Shuangbai County, Shuangbai County has seen rapid development in recent years, painting a new picture of rural revitalization. He pointed out that this year is the final year of the five-year transition period for effectively connecting the consolidation and expansion of poverty alleviation achievements with rural revitalization. We must enhance our sense of responsibility and urgency, continue to deepen our understanding of the patterns of rural revitalization, strengthen the summarization of experiences. Tan Zhemin insisted that the next phase of assistance work should continue to focus on educational assistance, industrial assistance, and targeted assistance, transforming NJU's advantages in education, science and technology, and talent resources into development momentum for Shuangbai, contributing NJU's wisdom and strength to continuously creating new prospects for comprehensive rural revitalization in Shuangbai.

Chen Feimin expressed gratitude for NJU's sincere assistance and hoped to continue the deep friendship, hoping the connection could develop from "assisting Shuangbai" to "empowering Chuxiong." Yang Mengting summarized NJU's assistance in education, science and technology, talent, and consumption, and looked forward to more fruitful results from NJU's pairing-off assistance to Shuangbai.
During the symposium, ceremonies were held for the donation of pairing assistance special fund, books and cultural shirts, and the signing of a tripartite cooperation agreement between NJU’s General Office, Shuyang Middle School, and Shuangbai No. 1 Middle School. Shuangbai County presented Yi embroidery works to NJU as a token of gratitude.

Tan Zhemin and the NJU delegation also conducted field research on the development of the mushroom industry in Luoshao Village, inspected the ginseng fruit seedling breeding base and summer ginseng fruit experimental field project, visited Yi embroidery workshops and monitoring households, and extended regards to university officials serving temporary positions at Shuangbai County.



During this visit, Nanjing University also held an academic seminar titled "Integration, Revitalization, and Co-construction: County Development and Rural Revitalization from the Perspective of A Community For The Chinese Community," where more than 50 experts from 15 universities and research institutions gathered in Shuangbai to discuss the interactive mechanisms and implementation paths between ethnic unity and progress, high-quality county development, and rural revitalization.

Representative from relevant schools and departments of NJU, Chuxiong Prefecture, as well as Jiangsu Province Hai'an Senior High School and Shuyang Senior High School accompanied the visit.
