NJU holds welcome ceremony for renowned energy expert Jing Xudong

In the afternoon of August 20, a welcome ceremony for renowned energy scholar and Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, Jing Xudong, was held at Nanjing University's Suzhou Campus. Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the ceremony and presented the appointment letter to Professor Jing Xudong.

Tan Tieniu welcomed and thanked Jing Xudong for joining NJU full-time. He pointed out that NJU is thoroughly implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and President Xi Jinping's important reply letter to young scholars who have returned to China after studying abroad, striving to build the "Unique Nanjing University", with a more urgent desire for top talents than ever before. Jing Xudong's joining comes at the perfect time. He hoped that Jing Xudong would fully utilize his experience, advantages, and influence in team building, scientific research, industrial cooperation, and international exchanges, working together with the School of Sustainable Energy and Resources to further accelerate the School's construction and development, address major national strategic needs, deepen cooperation with industry, accelerate the building of high-level talent teams, and make NJU's contributions to achieve the "dual carbon" goals and promote high-quality economic and social development.

Jing Xudong expressed gratitude to the University, the School, and various departments for their care and support. He stated that in the future, he will continue to conduct research in sustainable underground energy and other fields, actively recruit and cultivate outstanding talents from home and abroad, help the school's construction and development, and contribute wisdom and strength to support China's green and low-carbon technological system.
