On August 28, Shi Xianzhao, Chairman of Zhongshan Company Ltd. and President of the Hong Kong Jiangsu Enterprises Association, led a delegation to visit Nanjing University. Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, met with Shi Xianzhao and his delegation on Xianlin Campus.

Tan Tieniu welcomed Shi Xianzhao and his delegation on behalf of NJU. He introduced the basic situation of the university in terms of its history, discipline development, team building, talent cultivation, campus construction, and open education. Tan Tieniu pointed out that for a long time, NJU has been at the forefront of mainland universities in cooperation with Hong Kong, maintaining close ties with Hong Kong universities and carrying out a series of deep and comprehensive collaborations. He expressed hope that in the future, new bridges for cooperation with Hong Kong could be further built, continuously enhancing NJU's international level and influence, and promoting NJU to play a greater role in helping Hong Kong build an international innovation and technology center, joining hands with Hong Kong to make new and greater contributions to the construction of a leading country in education, science and technology.

Shi Xianzhao introduced the basic situation and development history of the Hong Kong Jiangsu Enterprises Association and the Hong Kong Jiangsu Innovation Center. He pointed out that the Hong Kong Jiangsu Innovation Center is dedicated to aggregating the scientific and innovative advantages of Jiangsu and Hong Kong, creating a new highland for scientific and technological innovation services with international influence, and contributing to the scientific and technological innovation and high-quality development of Jiangsu and Hong Kong. He hoped that NJU would provide support in academic guidance and talent teams, and that both sides could continue to deepen industry-university-research cooperation, jointly injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of Jiangsu and Hong Kong.

The participants further engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics such as discipline construction, artificial intelligence research and application, integration of industry, academia, and research, and scientific research platform construction.

On the same day, Shi Xianzhao and his delegation also visited the University History Museum. Lu Yanqing, Vice President of NJU, accompanied the visit.

The meeting was chaired by Ding Aijun, Assistant President of NJU. Chen Fan, Honorary President of the Hong Kong Jiangsu Enterprises Association, and other association representatives, as well as relevant officials from NJU's Science and Technology Research Institute and International Affairs Office attended the meeting.
