On June 16, the Plenary Meeting of the Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) at Nanjing University was held on Xianlin campus. Tan Tieniu, Chair of NJU CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) presided over the meeting. Tan Zhemin, Vice Chair of NJU CPC Council, President of NJU and Academician of the CAS attended the meeting.

Tan Tieniu pointed out that the members of the University CPC Committee and the University Discipline Inspection Commission adhere to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as their guide, fully implementing the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, the 20th CPC National Congress, as well as successive central committee plenary sessions and the National Education Conference. They deeply understand the significance of the "Two Affirmations", strengthen the "Four Consciousnesses", maintain the "Four-sphere Confidence" and act on the "Two Upholds". They fully implement the Party's education policies and the general requirements for Party building in the new era, deeply execute General Secretary Xi Jinping's important directivs of building world-class universities with Chinese characteristics rooted in China, and the spirit of his important reply to NJU young scholars returning from overseas. With unity and vigor, they lead all Party members, cadres, faculty, and staff in focusing on intrinsic development, striving for high-quality enhancement, and thoroughly implementing the "Forging Ahead Initiative". With a strong sense of political responsibility and historical mission, they diligently fulfill their duties, making significant contributions to comprehensively strengthen Party building and accelerate the construction of world-class universities with Chinese characteristics.

Tan Tieniu stated that the upcoming 12th Party Congress of Nanjing University will map out the blueprint for the University's development of in the next five years and beyond, proposing new development strategies and embarking on a new journey of striving. He believes that through our collective efforts, the meeting will surely be a complete success. The meeting reviewed and deliberated on the University CPC Council report, the University Discipline Inspection Commission work report, the report on the examination of delegate qualifications (draft), the report on the collection, use, and management of Party fees (draft), the conference agenda (draft), the conference schedule (draft), the proposed list of members for the presidium, secretary-general, and deputy secretary-generals, the proposed list of guests, specially invited personnel, and attendees, the preliminary list of candidates for the new University CPC Council members and University Discipline Inspection Commission members, the election method for the conference (draft), and other preparatory matters.

The meeting voted to pass the "Resolution of the Plenary Meeting of Nanjing University CPC Committee".
